There are six member groups to join when making your character: The Purger Army, the Carna, the Fulsi, the Cranks, the Naturals, and the Neutrals. Each one plays an important role within The Purge. Read through each one carefully and find out what part of the story your character will play a role in.
PURGER ARMY The Purgers began as something to defend the uninfected, an army to keep the people safe and make sure the cities didn’t get contaminated, but it has become so much more than that. Countless brave men and women enlist to be a Purger, to make a difference in the world and completely eradicate the Flare from the world for good. While the scientists cower behind the city walls and pretend they can find a cure, the Purgers on the front lines, risking their lives to keep the world safe. They answer only to their officers, and the officers answer only to the man who started the Purge program. They are mercilessly trained to be the best of the best, training harder than the marines or even the seals. The Purgers are all that stands between the world an a total apocalypse.
NATURALS Naturals are another term for the healthy and the uninfected. There are the poor, the rich, and the outlanders included within them. The rich stay rich and the poor go broke and the outlanders? Well the outlanders generally catch the Flare. The Naturals live in constant fear of getting sick, of not making enough money, of being too broke to afford to live in the safety of Avar City. The only ones free of this fear are the rich, and even they have to be afraid of losing their power in the war called politics. The poor have to fight tooth and nail, or rather kiss ass and lick boots to get any good jobs. The best job someone poor can get their hands on other than being a Purger are supply runners, the second most dangerous job – second to being a Purger, of course.
CRANKS The Cranks, the sick, the infected, those are just a few of the names for the poor saps that caught the Flare. They all began as normal people, but they have become something less than human. They are immediately identifiable by the golden ring that forms within their iris. The Flare got a hold of them slowly, as it did with everyone. It has four stages, the beginning is when you begin to have small signs of losing their minds. Slowly it transitions into the second stage, when you begin for feel sick, feel a constant ache in your bones and your skin starts to burn and itch, and you continue to lose your mind. The third stage is when the sores begin opening in your skin and you start to go entirely insane. The fourth stage is what’s called the Gone. It is when you barely resemble a human you look so sickly and disgusting, and your mind has completely deteriorated. It is in this stage that people begin to die. Usually when a Crank is in the beginning stages, they’ll start small gangs with other Cranks, getting territorial and violent with anyone who crosses their path.
CHANGLINGS The Changlings are perhaps the most bizarre phenomenon to happen due to the solar flares. Changlins are people who caught the Flare, but reacted differently - though like the Cranks, they are still able to be identified by the gold ring within their eyes. Their minds did change, yes, but they did not lose their minds. Their bodies bonded with the infection and mutated as a result, giving them strange abilities, making them stronger and faster than any Natural. They are outcasts and feared, grouped with the Cranks as subjects that need to be eliminated. Some are just trying to survive, staying neutral in the war against Naturals. Others are angry, and one in particular was angry enough to start a gang known as the Carna, dedicated to taking over the Naturals and wiping out the Purgers. They have recruited many Cranks to fight on the front lines as pawns. The other side of the Changlings are the Fulsi, a peaceful gang that is focused on survival and more like a family than anything else. They want peace with the Naturals, to coexist with them without violence. They remember what it means to be a Natural and will even defend them against the Carna if it comes down to it. But, if they are attacked, they will fight to the death to stay alive.
