No New Posts Diamond District - 1 Viewing

The Diamond District is clean, fun, and full of nothing but luxury. There are night clubs, game centers, tailors, awe-inspiring churches, massive penthouse suites that are built for nothing but entertainment and luxurious living. The kids get to party without a care while the adults play the scheming and dangerous game of money, power, and politics. Here there is a museum containing what's left of America's history and there is also a government building for the politicians to meet in.

No New Posts The Common Place

Here, life is as normal as it gets. Neither rich nor poor, the folks that reside here have worked their asses off and continue to do so so they can live a comfortable and functional life. There are no beautiful buildings here, mind you. Only large service buildings full of some of the grittiest jobs that earn you just enough money. The houses and apartments are small, most often a three bedroom at the most. It is still a struggle, but not so much as the poor. The middle class children attend the same school that the rich do towards the center of the city, though they are often not included in any of their inner circles. The adults are fighting for their lives to be able to give themselves and their families or future families a safe and happy life. The only fun activities around here are not provided by the city, rather people play baseball or other sports, and some can even go riding in the local stable. Most of the rich find horses outdated and smelly, but the middle class use horses in place of cars, for they cannot afford cars. There is a single bar available for anyone over the age of sixteen, but that is the extent of things to do. Shopping in the mall is a luxury reserved for the Diamond District.

No New Posts The Dust Town - 1 Viewing

The Dust Town is aptly named for it's run down, unkempt state. Dust Town is the very oldest part of Avar City, the part of the City that was first erected almost a hundred years ago, and it has perhaps been about that long since it was last repaired. The people who live there do their best to keep the place livable, but it is vain. Any law enforcement that is stationed here are often susceptible to being paid off by thieves and people who deem themselves rulers of Dust Town. The poorest are the only ones who live here, often being forced to pay fake taxes to the law enforcement and can barely afford to even live in Avar City. There is absolutely nothing to do here. There is minimal electricity is and is often extremely hot with no relief. Many here go hungry and get thirsty, and if they get sick with anything stronger than the flu, they are cast out of the city without treatment. Regardless of it's short comings, though, Dust Town is much safer than outside the walls.

Board Description
Avar City
Welcome to Avar City, the largest and safest city in North America. It is where the poor go broke and the rich get rich. The city is surrounded by impossibly tall walls that are seventy-six feet thick. There is only one way in and out of the city, and those are the front gates. They only open during two times of the day, at 5:00am and 8:00pm to release supply runners. The inside of the city is like any city had been before the Flare hit, with bad and nice neighborhoods, but the government here is corrupt. Only the richest in Avar City have access to basic needs such as health care and good jobs, the rest are plagued by fear of being cast out of the city for not being able to afford it or catching the Flare. Avar City looks glamorous from the outside, but to live within it it a fight for your life in itself.
